French 21

A version of the traditional French 75 cocktail, the French 21 combines vodka, lemon juice, raspberry liqueur and champagne for a striking celebratory cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 10mlVodka

  • 10mlLemon juice

  • 5mlRaspberry Liqueur

  • 5mlSugar Syrup

  • 1dashSparkling Wine

  • 1twistLime Peel Spiral

0.9 units of alcohol per serve

Equipment

  • 1 x Champagne flute

  • 1 x Strainer

  • 1 x Jigger

  • 1 x Cocktail shaker

Method

  • Ice

    Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

  • Pour

    Using a jigger, measure 10ml vodka, 10ml lemon juice, 5ml raspberry liqueur and 5ml sugar syrup into the shaker.

  • Mix

    Shake the mixture vigorously until the surface of the cocktail shaker feels chilled.

    Using a cocktail strainer, strain into a champagne flute. Top up the drink with sparkling wine.

  • Garnish

    With a sharp knife and a chopping board, slice the peel off a lemon and twist it into the flute to garnish.

  • Grab a bite

    Get some grub in before or while you’re drinking – it slows alcohol absorption.
