Flavour profile

An exceptional taste experience

Crafted in Guatemala, Zacapa Rum is an embodiment of patience, quality and master blending. Instead of molasses, it uses ‘virgin honey’ obtained from the first pressing of sugar cane. It’s then aged to perfection in the highlands of Quetzaltenango 2,300m above sea level, where it develops its complex flavour and character. As far as rums go, this is a work of art.

A bit of history

Zacapa rums are aged using a process they call ‘Sistema Solera’, a similar system used to age Spanish sherry. Ron Zacapa Centenario (23 Solera) is blended from solera aged stocks which range from 6 years to 23 years. The barrels used in the aging of Zacapa rum were previously used to age American whiskies and wines from Jerez and Pedro Ximénez.
